Project Overview

Aiming to alleviate flooding in significant portions of Charleston, this project involved constructing four access shafts, 7,250 ft. of deep stormwater conveyance tunnels, eight adit tunnels, and a near-surface collection system. Challenges included working in historic, densely populated neighborhoods and managing construction in an active floodplain within the Atlantic Hurricane basin.
