Williamson Creek Constructors JV is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist for a Heavy Civil, Underground Tunnel Construction Project in Austin, TX that is being built by Jay Dee Contractors, Inc., Obayashi, and HB Trenchless.

The Electrical Systems Specialist is responsible for project support on field operations and help staff and contracted electricians to gain understanding on use, improvement, modifications, and corrections on existing electrical installations and associated automated systems. The individual is responsible for high voltage, power distribution, diagnosing technical issues, providing the necessary support to fix problems, and providing instructions via email, phone or in person. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with contracted electricians and field teams to plan, execute, and troubleshoot electrical work.
Diagnose electrical and control system issues and provide clear, step-by-step corrective guidance.
Deliver on-site support in both surface and underground/tunnel environments, as needed.
Train and mentor electricians and staff on the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Maintain accurate and detailed logs of issues, resolutions, and system performance.
Partner with senior Electrical Engineers to develop solutions for complex technical challenges.
Review project material budgets and support procurement activities, including vendor coordination and purchase order review.
Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
Prepare and maintain daily activity reports and documentation.
Attend and actively contribute to project and coordination meetings.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 10-15 years field experience in electrical systems preferably with experience working on underground construction projects.
Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Proven ability to read, interpret, and develop technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Proficient with standard computer applications and technical software tools.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including platforms such as Siemens, Omron, and/or Allen-Bradley.
Demonstrated expertise in hands-on electrical work, including system wiring, panel installation and retrofits, component mounting, and cable routing.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with cross-functional project teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
